Galston Country Music Festival 2008

The 2008 Coopers Golden Saddle Awards - Rules & Regulations.

The Coopers Golden Saddle Awards are open to Professional Independent Country Music artists, duos & bands who are Australian citizens or permanent residents, but limited to residents of New South Wales. Smaller indie labels not released through majors are also allowed. Anyone already signed to a major record label or Artists signed to large Indie labels (i.e. Shock, Rajon, MRA, MGM) are ineligible.

Previous Coopers Golden Saddle Awards Grand Finalists are not eligible to enter.

Each entry must consist of:
· completed and signed entry form
· 5 copies of CD + 5 copies of promotional material
· cheque/money order made payable to Galston Country Music Festival or credit card payment of $20.00
 
** One CD with overall publicity photo (300 dpi) and biography should also be included, to be used on the Galston Country Music Festival website.
 
2. Entries close 31st May 2008. All entry packages must be postmarked no later than 5:00pm 31st May 2008.
 
3. Each entrant must be available to perform in Sydney at the Coopers Golden Saddle Awards on Saturday 13th September 2008, and at the Galston Country Music Festival on Sunday 14th September 2008.
 
4. Each entry shall not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. All entry fees are non-refundable. All materials submitted will not be returned. The Golden Saddle Awards is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, postage due, stolen or misappropriated entries.
 
5. The winner of the Coopers Golden Saddle Award will be selected by a judging panel consisting of 4 top Country Music industry professionals + the Chairman of the Galston Country Music Festival. All songs entered are judged equally on originality and strength of melody, lyrics, composition, performance & production quality.
 
6. The entrant shall (or shall cause copyright owner of the entry if different from the entrant to) agree to permit The Coopers Golden Saddle Awards to include any of the songs entered by the entrant on any official Golden Saddle Awards CD/video/DVD/website or multi-media CD releases that are for promotional &/or fundraising purposes. The entrant also agrees to allow The Coopers Golden Saddle Awards to include any entered songs, any photos/likenesses, any video footage that will be used in any television broadcasts and any radio broadcasts, and as part of the Coopers Golden Saddle Awards ceremony and as a part of any press release or electronic media release.
 
7. Each entrant acknowledges that in the event that he/she is an award winner or finalist in the Coopers Golden Saddle Awards, then without compensation, the Coopers Golden Saddle Awards will have the right to publicise and print his/her name and photographic likeness and use any video footage that is either supplied by entrant or that is taken from entrant performing at a Coopers Golden Saddle Awards event, and the fact that he/she won a prize in the Coopers Golden Saddle Awards and all related matters.
 
8. PRIZES - will not be exchanged for cash or anything else. The judge's decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into. All prizes must be claimed within one year of the Coopers Golden Saddle Awards. The Coopers Golden Saddle Awards and the fact that the artist is a Coopers Golden Saddle Awards winner must be prominently included in all press releases and promotional material relating to any prizes. The relevant prize/award sponsors must be prominently included in all media and CD releases relating to prize.
 
9. The 3 Finalists will be included in the running for The Coopers Golden Saddle People's Choice Award (Public vote) and will be voted on by both the general public through the Galston Country Music Festival website, and the live audience at the Coopers Golden Saddle Awards as part of the Galston Country Music Festival. The Artist with the most votes will win. Online voting for the People’s Choice Award will close 1 week before the Galston Country Music Festival. Each audience vote will equal 2 online votes.
 
10. The 3 Finalists will be included in the running for The Tomkins Guitars Golden Saddle Performance Award, which will be judged on Saturday 13th September, 2008 at the Coopers Golden Saddle Awards, presented at The Galston Club.
 
11. The 3 Finalists agree to perform at a Coopers Golden Saddle Awards Showcase Concert in Tamworth in January 2009. (date to be advised)
 
12. The Coopers Golden Saddle Award winner (outright winner) agrees to make him/herself available to appear at the Galston Country Music Festival the following year, on the Mainstage in Fagan Park. This is a paid booking & constitutes part of their prize.
 
13. Entrant agrees to be bound by Coopers Golden Saddle Awards entry procedures and established rules and regulations.
